Al’ard's green table olives are handpicked from ancient, rain-fed olive trees in the hills around Nablus, Palestine.

The groves contain a mixture of Nabali and Rumi trees – long renowned as quintessential Palestinian olive varieties. The name Rumi stems from the supposed Roman provenance of the trees, many of which are believed to be 1,000 to 2,000 years old.

After being picked by hand, the olives are prepared, cracked, and pickled the traditional Palestinian way. Their flavour is strong and tangy – the perfect accompaniment to a breakfast spread or shakshuka.

Al'ard is a family-owned business specialising in premium artisanal Palestinian food.

It helps Palestinian farmers secure fair market prices and gives them access to state-of-the-art facilities, allowing them to reach global markets.

Bayyāra was created in 2024 by Noor, a Palestinian from Gaza, and her husband Matt (from NZ).

We import Hebron ceramics, Nablus soap, extra virgin olive oil, traditional embroidery, and other Palestinian products.

Every purchase directly supports farmers & artisans in Palestine, and helps to preserve their cultural heritage.
