A traditional Palestinian bar soap, fire-cooked and air-dried in the ancient city of Nablus.
Thousands of years after it was first produced, Nablus soap still has the same simple qualities that made it famous. Virgin olive oil from Palestine is mixed with lye and water, and cooked over a fire. The molten mixture is poured onto a stone floor, cut into squares, and then air-dried for several months before being wrapped in paper.
