Our founders are Noor, a Palestinian from Gaza, and Matt, a Kiwi originally from Nelson. Read our story here.
In Palestinian Arabic, Bayyāra means "orange grove". Our name is a nod to the fertile bayyāra, full of Valencia and Jaffa oranges, that Noor's grandfather owned in Gaza.
We prepare orders at our small farm on the Kāpiti Coast, an hour north of Wellington, NZ.
Eventually, yes! At the moment, we're busy planting groves of olives, oranges, almonds, and figs that we ultimately plan to incorporate into our shop. We aren't ready to open to the public just yet.
We source all our products (except books) from a handful of non-profits, cooperatives, and family-owned businesses in Palestine. View our full list of suppliers.
You can find our full return policy here.
Shipping usually takes 2-3 business days within New Zealand, and 3-6 business days to Australia. View our shipping page for more info.
Yep, we also ship to NZ. If you live outside NZ and Australia, we can almost certainly arrange something – contact us!
